Justin McAllister's skill, as seen in these remarkable renderings of controlled burns set by the artist, is astounding. i can think of few things more difficult to capture with paint and canvas than the kinetic beauty of an open flame. what's more, McAllister evokes a rather eerie human presence/absence in the midst of his landscapes that is absolutely magical. see more of his paintings here.
