what i wouldn't give for half an hour o shootin' the sh*t with this guy. Wayne White is a painter, art director, illustrator, puppeteer and banjo player originally from Chatanooga, Tennessee. he's won 3 emmies for his work as a designer on Pee Wee's Playhouse, as well as MTV and Billboard awards for his work in music videos, such as Peter Gabriel's Big Time. Wayne also works as a fine artist, creating, among other things, the 'word paintings' you see here. these paintings feature oversized text integrated into reproductions of vintage landscapes. i realize this stuff might not be for everyone, but i think they're unspeakably awesome. there are over two hundred of these gems on White's website varying greatly in style and content. most are humorous, but some are poignant, even sad. i suggest you head over there and flip through them right away.
