Evelyn Tripp was considered among the most versatile of the models famous during postwar American fashion's glamour years. her striking beauty was immortalized by dozens of noted photographers, and she was a particular favorite of William Klein, whose 1958 photograph of her, blowing cigarette smoke from beneath her veil, remains his signature image.

Evelyn appeared on more than 40 covers, beginning with the Jan. 1, 1949, issue of Vogue. she retired from modelling in 1968, and died of colon cancer in 1995, at the age of 67.
