it's almost cape season!

though my childhood fantasies of trudging through the Scottish moors in a long velvet hooded cloak, charlotte-bronte-styles, have since been tempered, i remain enamoured with capes and capelets of all sorts. so the fact that they are prevalent on the coming season's runways has me all giddy. here are some of my favourites from the fall/winter 2009-2010 collections...

Oh Lordy! These are gorgeous. I too have a similar fantasy of the long velvet hooded cape. Capes are so beautiful and I have to snatch me up one. I notice you are a fellow Canadian! I am moving to Ottawa within month or two..I've resided on the East Coast since I was born,in every maritime province and its time to move on...mwahahaha...hehe.
Thanks for following my blog btw! :)

Capes are beautiful, versatile and classy! The one from kenzo is splendid...and with a vintage vibe!
I saw another great one from Sisley (an italian brand, same family of Benetton but the quality is usually a bit better) on an Elle editorial, but of course I can't find it in stores :-(

I love capes! I was wearing them two years ago! I'm so ahead of the curve ;)

I am a big cape fan too!! I want one from Tulle, so bad. I bought one from them in the spring and I hate to part with it, so a new one I must buy, lol.

Lurve them. I also likes me a good shawl - a bit cozier when the fashioniest place you go is kindergarten drop off.

Capes are so magisterial, aren't they? I feel like a bit of a fraud when I wear one...like I should be far more elegant and cultured than I actually am.
