hall of dames - yma sumac (video vendredi edition)







Yma Sumac was an extraordinary Peruvian soprano, and one of the most famous performers of what was referred to as exotica music, in the 1950s. her striking, unique voice, which ranged well over four octaves, and her captivating presence brought her international fame. the world lost Yma to colon cancer last november, at the age of 86. thankfully, her legacy remains:
